TUBAL LIGATION

Some Illinois Abortion Clinics offer Tubal Ligation, a permanent surgical sterilization technique for women. In a tubal ligation, the fallopian tubes are cut and cauterized close to stop the egg from travelling to the uterus from the ovary. This also prevents the sperm from travelling to the fallopian tube and fertilizing the egg. This procedure is permanent and 99.5% effective.

This form of female sterilization is immediately effective and irreversible. A Tubal Ligation at our member clinics is completed with a laparoscopic surgery also known as belly button surgery where the incision is made in the belly button. There is minimal downtime from the procedure and most women can return to their normal routine within a few days. The surgery is performed under anaesthesia.

Tubal Ligations are 99.5% effective as birth control. Please remember that Tubal Ligation does not protect against sexually transmitted infections or sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS.

Hormone Free – Does not disrupt Sex Drive

Surgical sterilization does not induce premature menopause or alter the woman’s production of sex hormones. The unfertilized egg is simply reabsorbed by the body, rather than being sloughed off in the menstrual flow.

Tubal sterilization does not disrupt sex drive or sexual response.

Some of our member clinics also offer a Vasectomy – A Male Sterilization technique.
